We were a little bewildered that we took a private bus for double the cost and then were told abruptly that we were here after only 4 hours, but it turned out to be a nice travel mistake.
Vang Vieng is a beautiful spot halfway between Vientiane and Luang Prabang. They have inner tube trips down the river--but not for us rainmakers.
