| You WILL reap what you sow. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Sermons | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| What would happen if a farmer planted corn seed? Right, if the farmer plants corn, he wouldn't receive a crop of potatoes. He would receive corn, for he planted corn. In Galatians 6:7-10 it says that "Do not be deceived: God cannot be cocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 The one who sows to please his shnful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap a eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will rep a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." In verse 8 it is talking about a man that is pleasing himself by sinning. In verse 7 it says that he is mocking God when he does this, and that he is fooling himself. A related verse says that if you sow sin, you WILL reap death. (Romans 6:23) God says that from this mans sin, then he will have destruction follow. The destruction will be what will come, because of what sin produces. (sin = death, and destruction) Also in this passage, in verse 8 as well, it states that if the man was to sow to please the Spirit, then he will reap eternal life. Both passages, from Hosea, and Galations state that the people in reference were sinning by their actions, nothing that they were doing was pleasing to God. But, if both of the people would have sought after God, then they would have received Salvation. That's what it says. Hosea 10:12 (saving power like rain - CEV) Galatians 6:8 (reap eternal life - NIV) |
