To Jesus who said, "He who loses his life for my sake shall find it"
Could it be that happiness eludes Those who seek it the most But is found by those who duck it? Turning from its many illusions And supposed forms And run in the opposite direction Could it be those who deny themselves the pleasures Are happier than those who ran after them? Could it be that the illusion Of some peoples happiness is only that? An illusion which to them a hollow pursuit Looks to us like they are having a blast Could it be that the pauper Is happier than the president The hermit above the socialite If its true its not found by its pursuers Tell me where then is hapiness to be found Is it not in God and our Christ?
