| May 7, 1982 Dear Mama, Hi! Hello! How are you? Hope you�re always doing fine. We have received the money that you sent. $100 + $10. We also got the card for Lolo. Benny brought it here. Also the 5 small pictures. We have already given your birthday card to Lolo. The exchange rate is quite high. We�ve exchanged the money just yesterday. P8.45. So Lina and I got P345 out of that money. By the way, your parcel is already at Quezon City. Auntie Charito and Lina have not met Mely since she was out of town when they went there. I have been very busy with my summer course. It started on April 12. It�s a one-and-a-half month course. So we�re almost done. Only two weeks left. On Monday, I took a competitive scholarship exam at Centro. The exam was really tough. Centro is taking only 11 out of 200 applicants. If I don�t pass the scholarship exam, I think I might still enrol there. Anyway, you mentioned that you are in favor of that school. May 17 is election day here. I just realized that I will be voting next year. Matanda na pala ako. I have something to tell you, Ma. You know, a boy is courting me. He was my classmate in third year and fourth year high school. But he courted me only this February. He was one of the best in our class. And he�s a really nice guy. He has been here several times already. Auntie Charito knows him.
