| April 29, 1981 Dear Dolly, A pleasant hi and hello to you. How are you? Hope youre in good health and everythings okay. I received the birthday card that you sent me. Somebody came here to deliver the card. I also got the $20 that was enclosed. Thank you very much! Your birthday present for me is a month early. We havent gone to the address of that person that you want us to send your package to. The guy who delivered your letter gave Auntie Charito a phone number. She will call tomorrow. Well send the stuff that you want us to buy to that person because we havent heard yet from Elma Balitaan. Hows your new place? Are you all right there? Is that closer to your work? How was your Holy Week? Did you celebrate it like we did here? Tell us about your happenings there. Nena left on Monday, April 27. We do not have a maid now. But were getting by. There are lots of us here to help with the chores. I wash Linas clothes and mine. Auntie Charito wouldnt let me help her wash theirs. She said I could help ironing the clothes if I want. I also help her cook. By the way, when is Uncle Domings birthday? I know that its in May, but I dont know the exact date. Anyway, I already sent him a card. I didnt tell him that youre already there in Canada. Have you written to him yet? Does he know that youre there? Im not sure if you want me to tell him that youre there. I wanted to go to Lola Natang (Villamiel), but Im not sure if you want me to tell them that you went abroad. Next time you write, please tell me if I could tell them that youre there in Canada. Did you receive the pictures that we sent you? Those were taken during our Garland Festival and Recognition Day. You know what, Uncle Delfin was here the other day. He hasnt left for Saudi yet. In the mean time, he is looking for a job here while waiting for his papers to be processed. O sige ha. Until here. Bye. Take care always. Love, Irene |
