Prologue

Ow! Son of a bitch! Gennivive grabbed her head as she tried to keep her balance on her feet. She had been looking through her closet for a certain necklace she had wanted to wear to work when a box fell on her head spilling its contents all over the floor. What was inside she had no clue, but it had been incredibly heavy.

Finally looking to the floor to see what the box contained, Ginnys face softened. Pictures from her past and certain items her ex-best friend had bought her were all over the floor. Kneeling down, she scooped up a few of the photographs and looked them over. She couldnt help but to smile as happy memories floated through her mind, until she came to the last photo that is. She found herself reeling back to that day a little over ten years ago. She felt as though her heart had been ripped apart by those two simple words he uttered into her ear. She should have known something would happen to tear them apart. No one finds their soul mate when theyre eight years old.

He was different. She could tell that right away. It was like someone had ripped out his vocal chords or something. Him and Trace both. Neither of them were acting the same. Even while playing Mario kart on the Nintendo 64, they were acting strangely. Normally theyre so competitive, but today they were acting like they just didnt care.

Setting down her controller, Ginny turned to the two guys she had been best friends with for six years. Spill it.

What? Justin looked at her and even at the young, frail age of thirteen, she could feel her heart leap into her chest. But this wasnt the time for that. Something was going on and she intended to find out just what it was.

I may be blond but that doesnt mean Im stupid. Somethings going on with you guys. Youre acting weird. What is it? Justin and Trace looked at one another and they knew they had to tell her.

Looking back to Ginny, Justin seemed like he was trying not to cry, which was incredibly odd to her. She had only seen him cry once, but that was a story for another time. Theres something I need to tell you, Gigi. Not liking the sound of his voice, Ginny was about to ask what was going on once again, but her mother chose that exact moment to come into the room, camera in hand, telling them all to get together for a picture.

Cant it wait, mom?

Gennivive, get with your friends. You wont be thirteen forever so I want as many pictures of you as I can get. Rolling her eyes, Ginny sat between Justin and Trace on the couch and they leaned in, each putting an arm around her waist. Say cheese! Her mother looked through the viewing lens and just before she took the picture, Ginny could feel Justins mouth beside her ear and those simple two words were enough to turn her entire world upside down.

Im moving.

*flash*

Shaking away the memories, Ginny carefully put everything back into the box and set it back up in its place at the top of the closet. You havent been with me for ten years now and youre still invading my thoughts. Grabbing her jacket off the hooks by the front door, Ginny locked her door and headed out of the building and to her car to get her day started. She just hoped it would be a good day with no mishaps.
