As evidenced in my review of 'Soul Plane', movies are often defined by their first five minutes.

So when, as in Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, the first five minutes includes a very prominently featured CLAY AIKEN SONG, you know the movie is going to kick some serious ass.

Uh, or it's going to be a somewhat decent sequel with a lot of fart jokes.

I'll let you figure out which one this is.
In SD2:MU, Mystery Inc. is faced with something they've never encountered before (erm, except in the first movie) : real ghosts and monsters. It's up to them to save Coolsville and their reputations while battling classic villians first featured on the animated show. The gang is joined in this movie by Seth Green, Alicia Silverstone, Tim Blake Nelson and Peter Boyle, who has the line that made me laugh out loud - "Dern bushes yowlin' at me again." ... ... ... I'm easily amused, okay?
The movie was about as fun as the first one, and just as relentlessly silly. I didn't think the CGI was as good, particularly on Scooby, but a special feature told me I was wrong. Oh.
Speaking of the special features, there are a bunch. We got the behind the scenes stuff, we got some neat, involved games, we even got some music videos, including the irksomely named 'Thank You (Faletin Me Be Mice Elf Again)'. That's exactly what kids today should be learning.

TWO CLAY COCKS
I'd like to volunteer to solve the Mystery of Clay's Pants.
He would have had the #1 single too, if it hadn't been for those meddling Claymates!
