Chapter 11
Chapter 11 - Tight Strings I sat and watched Renkon put his armor on over his head, his spiky hair bending out of shape for a minute but then sprang back in its regular mess. He wasn't that mad at me for what I had done when he had returned from his 'mission'. Actually I think he kinda' enjoyed it, for he smiled in his usual smug way. A small brown swish caught my eye as he stood, still making his armor fit right. I looked at his tail; it swished back and forth as he grew agitated when his armor didn't fit right. He wasn't like most other Saiyajin, I noticed as he then shoved his callous hands in the white gloves. Most Saiyajin keep their tails wrapped around their waists while Renkon keeps his unfurled at his feet. Curiosity told me that I need to study more about the Saiyajin and their tails. Today was supposed to be long and boring, well that's how Renkon put it. He's been in one mood and out the other all week and its just now starting to take effect on everyone else on the ship. Even poor little DJ got some tension in, being all cooped up and all. It began to grate on my nerves to where it even made him grouchy. We were supposed to be going to another planet for negations and such. Renkon didn't seem to look forward to it and grumbled day in and day out. Yet lucky for me I didn't need to worry about all of that. I just had to be a good girl all day and then I wont get in trouble. Yet then I have to be bad when Renkon pushes it past that 'nicey nicey' limit. Renkon stormed in around late night, it's getting easier to tell time in space now. Yet he wasn't in the mood to be nice but I didn't happen to know that since I had already gone to sleep. When he sat on the edge of the bed, tail flicking all around. Curiosity made me turn over to face him and see why he was so upset. He was trying to get his boots off at the moment but turned to me when he felt me move. Looking over his shoulder he pretty much forgot about the boot. "What are you looking at me for?" he asked in a snarl like tone. "Just wondering what's got your tail in a knot," I said simply, rolling over on my stomach. He looked at me funny, confused almost but not really. His tail, after it was mentioned, flicked around making it a very tempting target if I were a cat. I thought to myself for a minute, looking at his tail. I never did get a chance to touch the damned thing. He never gives me a chance to touch it or anything, not like I'm obsessed with it. I mean I know what it feels like but that doesn't mean I've actually touched it. He seems to like to wrap it around my waist or a leg but other then that he keeps it relatively to himself. When I came back to myself I noticed he had gone ahead and already taken his armor off and along with his boots and gloves. "Nothing has my tail in a knot," he said with a scowl. "See? Its fine," he said waving it around not getting the saying. "That's not what I mean." "But that's what you said." "It's just a saying. What I meant was why have you been so cranky?" "Cranky? Another one of your terms for me?" "You know what I mean." "We're heading towards Lyonia," he said with a gruff, turning back around, his back to me. I hate that. "And why? Another planet to purge?" I asked with a bit of anger in my tone. "No, the Lyonnajin are our allies. Its just negations." "I take it that you don't like peace talk." He grumbled at me and proceeded to finish undressing. This meant that he'd tired of talk and wants to go to bed. That was fine with me, which meant I wont wake up sore in the morning.
