8. The contraction between preposition a and feminine definite articles a or as must always have a grave accent:

a + a à
a + as às

 

9. The following words must never be accented:

como how, as, like, since
porque because

 

10. The word para may be accented according to its meaning:

para (preposition) for, to
pára (verb) verb to stop, 3rd person singular of the present indicative
