The beautiful and statue- sque Miss Philippines, Cara Subijano, appears in one of the most unu- sual national costumes a Filipina has ever worn. Neither Muslim nor tri- bal in origin, the costume is in fact more of a car-nival outfit than as a na- tional dress. The slim fitting gown features in- tricate beading and Cara tops it off with a feather- ed headdress that looks more South American than Asian! |

SEMI-FINALIST NUMBER ONE IS . . . . . . . . . . MISS PHILIPPINES !!!
Cara Subijano was the first semi-finalist to be called! Wow, what a way to start the evening. She was quickly joined by dele- gates from Croatia, Zimbabwe, India, the United Kingdom, Belgium, South Africa, Greece, Venezuela, and Malaysia. All the girls were wearing identical silver plated dresses designed specially for this part of the program. |

Cara walks to the front of the stage in her signature supermodel gait. Known to many, Miss Philip- pines was also the official repre- sentative of the country in the Su- permodel of the World Contest a few years back. Though she didn't win the international title, Cara has polished her craft and went on to win the Miss Philippines World title. During the pageant night of the Miss World finals, Cara walk- ed with such ease and fluidity, ma- king her a clear stand-out from the rest of the delegates. This, coupled with her dizzying height of almost 6 feet, made her look intimidating indeed! |

Cara Subijano in swim- suit! The tall 6 foot stun- ner towered over her ve- ry own escort! Slim and well proportioned in her silver plated bathing suit, Miss Philippines could have easily walked away with the 'Best in Swimsuit Award' that night. Al- though no scores were shown, Cara could have easily gotten a 9.40 with that figure and presence on stage! Whew! |
