It is abundant in its natural flora and fauna with a unique landscape of sprawling tea gardens, an unending stretches of paddy fields, groves of coconut, betel nuts etc.  Bihu is the major festival of Assam in 3 forms - Bohag, Bhugali and Kangali. The Rongali Bihu or the Festival of Merriment, is celebrated during April.  It marks the arrival of spring and New Year.  The Kati Bihu celebrated during October-November marks the completion of sowing and transplanting of paddies.  The Magh or Bhogali Bihu celebrated during January marks the end of the harvesting period.
