Chocobos
Chocobo Breeding and Training
Chocobos, geez is it hard work or what? This guide might help things a little. To prevent you from wasting your fortune on a dumb thing like the wrong leaves...
Yellow Chocobo - First, you'll need the Chocobo Lure Materia. You can buy it from Billy for 2000gil. Go capture a good quality one from the area around Mideel. Just get into
a battle on the chocobo tracks there and be sure the chocobo doesn't run away. After you have him, ride him back to the farm and put him in a stall. Max his/her stats out by buying
greens (leaves.) Then race it at the Gold Saucer, until it's an S class. Get two of them (opposite sex, duh.) Then mate them with a Carob Nut. You'l need to steal that from a
"Ferocious Vlakorados" which are near Bone Village. If you're lucky you'll get a --
Mountain Chocobo (green) - Can walk over mountains. Or...
River Chocobo (blue) - Can walk through Rivers.
Mate the River and Mountain Chocobos together with a Carob nut (after training them hard of course.) If your lucky you'll get a black chocobo. Now, you can attempt what may be
the greatest accomplishment in the game Getting a Gold Chocobo. Gold Chocobo - Mate the Black Chocobo and a Wonderful Quality yellow chocobo using a Zeio Nut. These can only
be found on a small island northeast of Chocobo ranch. Steal it from the Goblins there. If you are REALLY lucky, you might just do it.
