Tom and Heidi met one evening through mutual friends. It was a chance encounter. They took one look at each other and there was an instant bond between them. Tom asked Heidi out for dinner and the rest is history...but not really. Heidi made it very difficult on Tom (there's a surprise!), but he made it hard on her too since he was scheduled to leave for a 6-month deployment with the Navy in a matter of weeks. This actually proved to be the best thing that could have happened for them as it gave them the opportunity to get to know each other in a way that is quite rare in the 21st century. For 6 long months they corresponded via email. The emails grew from sporadic 'how-have-you-been' notes to daily (sometimes hourly!) love letters. The six months of correspondence allowed them to get to know each other and learn about each others' values, morals, likes, dislikes, etc. By the time that Tom returned from deployment they were as in love as two people could be. Heidi met Tom's ship, the U.S.S. Roosevelt, when it pulled into Mayport, FL and their future together began... Tom asked Heidi to be his wife on December 20, 2002 amid champagne, candlelight and pink roses, that he had strewn throughout the house with the forethought of a true romantic. They are both very thankful to have found each other and are looking forward to sharing the most significant day of their lives with those that they love and cherish... |

Tom and Heidi will be married at The Episcopal Church of St. Paul the Apostle in historic downtown Savannah, Georgia on Saturday May 10th, 2003 at six o'clock in the evening. Dinner and reception will be held at The Plantation Club at The Landings on Skidaway Island immediately following the ceremony. |
