legend called Cirith Ungol begun rising in 1972 when some friends decided to form a rock band, whose name was Titanic. after the lineup and name changed, the band released its debut album ('Frost and Fire') through Liquid Flames records in 1981. in the same year they took part in Metal Massacre vol. 1, together MetallicA, Ratt, Malice and so on.
then guitarist and songwriter Greg Lindstorm left the band. in 1984 Enigma Records released Cirith Ungol's second album: King of the Dead, a real milestone of true epic-doom metal. nevertheless, in 1986 Metal Blade records published the third album One Foot in Hell of this band. at the end of eighties bassist Flint and guitarist Jerry Floge left the band.
after a while Vernon Green (bass) and Jim Barazza (guitar) joined the group, so Cirith Ungol started recording its fourth album: Paradise Lost.
due to some lienup problems, the band split in 1992. however, during all its carreer Cirith Ungol accumulate a plenty of experience and got a lot of stuff which now is available for the very first time on a fantastic double cd released out
-once again- by Metal Blade records.
