Friction: The rubbing together of two objects; the resistance of two objects relative to motion.

Machine: A machine is a tool used to make work easier.

Simple Machine: are types of machines that do work with one movement. There are 6 simple machines; the inclined plane, the wedge, the screw, the lever, the pulley, and the wheel and axle.

Compound Machine:  have two or more simple machines working together to make work easier.

Force: A push or a pull.

Load: The object moved across a distance in order to do work.

Work: In science, work is defined as a force acting on an object to move it across a distance.
