Like flowers rising to meet the sky, we unfold in the presence of a friend. Nothing is withheld, for the trust we exchange allows us both to be all that we are. There is no greater freedom and no more natural joy. ~Robert Sexton
Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired, and success achieved. ~Helen Keller
You must understand the whole of life, not just one little part of it. That is why you must read, that is why you must look at the skies, that is why you must sing and dance, and write poems, and suffer, and understand, for all that is life. ~J.Krishnamurti, 1895-1986 Indian Philosopher
Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come. ~Author Unknown
Refuse to fall down. If you cannot refuse to fall down, refuse to stay down. If you cannot refuse to stay down, lift your heart toward heaven, and like a hungry beggar, ask that it be filled, and it will be filled. You may be pushed down. You may be kept from rising. But no one can keep you from lifting your heart toward heaven...
I Believe... That we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change. That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that. That true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love. That you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life. That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them. That you can keep going long after you can't. That we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel. That either you control your attitude or it controls you. That heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences. That money is a lousy way of keeping score. That my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time. That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up. That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel. That just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have. That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated. That it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself. That no matter how bad your heart is broken, the world doesn't stop for your grief. That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become. That just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do. That you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever. That two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different. That your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you. That even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help. That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being. That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

O Christ Jesus, when all is darkness and we feel our weakness and helplessness, give us the sense of your presence, your love, and your strength. Help us to have perfect trust in your protecting love and strengthening power, so that nothing may frighten or worry us, for, living close to you, we shall see Your Hand, Your Purpose, Your Will through all things. Amen. ~St. Ignatius of Loyola (1491-1556)
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsley for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matthew 5:3-12
