For me, prayer means
launching out of the heart
toward God;
A cry of grateful love from the crest
of joy or the trough of despair;
It is a vast, supernatural force
that opens out my heart,
and binds me close to Jesus.
~Saint Therese of Lisieux
I give you my word,
if you are ready to believe
that you will receive whatever
you ask for in prayer,
it shall be done for you.
~Jesus, Mark 11:24
Love has a hem to her garment
That reaches the very dust.
It sweeps the stains
From the streets and lanes,
And because it can, it must.
~Mother Teresa
When I Say I Am A Christian

When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I'm not shouting "I am saved."
I'm whispering "I was lost";
That is why I chose this way.

When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble,
And need someone to be my guide.

When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak,
And pray for strength to carry on.

When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed,
And cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I'm not claiming to be perfect.
My flaws are too visible,
But God believes I'm worth it.

When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches,
Which is why I speak His name.

When I say, "I am a Christian,"
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority;
I only know I'm loved.

Crimson Promise

Come dance with me in the garden
of roses ~
I will be your sunshine, your
raindrops,
your warmth and quenching.
Let us have faith in seasons
of sorrow
For there will always be a
brighter tomorrow...
Come dance with me in the garden
of roses~
Where the crimson promise of
eternal hope ever-blooms.

When In Need of a Friend

When in need of a friend
look around you,
You need never be alone,
Many truehearts
will surround you,
Grown from the seeds
you have sown.
For every small deed
has its blossom
That feeds on a smile or a word,
or a handclasp that says
"I am with you,"
A message unspoken but heard.
~Edythe Jackman
Cherish your vision;
cherish your ideals;
cherish the music that stirs in your heart.
The beauty that forms in your mind.
The loveliness that
drapes your purest thoughts.
If you remain true to them,
your world will at last be built.
~James Allen

Christ with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.
