Pre-instructional:
TSW name the four major oceans.
TTW ask the students what they have learned about fish
TSW sing �I�m a Little Fish�

�I'm a Little Fish� (Tune: I'm a Little Teapot)
I'm a little fish in the ocean so blue,
There are so many things that I can do,
I can swim around with my tail and fin.
The water's fine-just jump right in.


Procedure 1:
a. TSW will predict what Blue Sea  is about.
b. TTW read the story to the class.
c. TSW answer questions about the story.
d. TSW name the story elements.

Procedure 2:
a. TSW use words big, bigger, small, smaller from the story to compare sets of                   objects in the classroom, such as ball, pencil, or ocean items.
b. TTW place three objects on each table and each group of students must put them in       order from smallest to largest.
c. TSW discuss the items and switch with another group.

Procedure 3:
a. TTW give each child 15 teddy bear counters.
b. TSW individually build a train, which is longer than three but are shorter than                 thirteen.
c. TSW compare their trains at each table (which is the shortest, longest, etc.).

Day 4

a. TSW find the opposites of words that were found in the story.
b. TTW write the words on the board.


Procedure 3:
a. TSW cutout things out of a magazine that begins with F.
b. TSW paste them on construction paper.
c. TTW display the students work.
