Day 5

Pre-instructional:
TSW name the four major oceans.
TTW ask the students what they have learned about fish
TSW sing �I�m a Little Fish�

�I'm a Little Fish� (Tune: I'm a Little Teapot)
I'm a little fish in the ocean so blue,
There are so many things that I can do,
I can swim around with my tail and fin.
The water's fine-just jump right in.

Procedure 1:
a. TSW will predict what One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss
b. TTW read the story to the class.
c. TSW answer questions about the story.
d. TSW name the story elements.

Procedure 2:
a. TSW tell the words that rhymed in the story.
b. TTW write the word on a chart and discuss the likeness of the words.
c. TSW read the chart together.
d. TSW orally make sentences using the words.
e. TTW write the sentences on the board.

Procedure 3:
a. TSW tell the color words they heard in the story.
b. TTW write them on the board.
c. TSW read the color words.

Procedure 4:
a. TSW estimate how many goldfish are in a bag.
b. TSW discuss if they have enough fish to feed the whole room.
c. TSW count the goldfish.
d. TSW tell how many goldfish they think each student should receive for all the                goldfish to be used.
e. TSW use their goldfish as counters.
f. TSW subtract as they eat their goldfish.
