Texas Highlights
(continued)
These are highlights of our bicycle trip across America.  There is no way that we can relate EVERYTHING that has happened out here.  We talk to dozens of people each day about the Lord---at stores, parks, along the side of the road, everywhere that we go.  The following are examples of some of the awesome ways that the Lord is moving out here.

September 23-25---We spent a few days in Fort Worth fellowshipping with old friends and meeting new ones.  On Tuesday night, the church had a potluck.  We were able to share with everyone what the Lord was doing out here and answer alot of questions.  It was an awesome time of encouragement.
Pastor Larry blessed us with new tires for Christopher and Ashley bikes.  Their's were wearing pretty bad.  He also insisted on buying us some warm clothes, as it is beginning to get a little chilly.

New Challenges!
September 26th-27th--We prayed with Pastor Larry and rode on out of Fort Worth.  We were still about 12 miles from Weatherford, when we saw a McDonalds and decided to stop for lunch.  There were three ladies having a prayer/bible meeting.  When we finished eating, we went over and talked to them.  They were very excited about what we do and were encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and trust God.  They said that what they were just praying about was how to trust Him more.  It was a well to do community and the one concern that they had was that people look to themselves and what they can do instead of the the Father.
About two miles down the road, Judith (one of the ladies) caught up with us.  She said she wanted us to share in their Friday night Life Group and that we could stay at their house.
We were able to minister alot to her and her husband.  At the Friday night Life Group, a guy made Shrimp Creole.  It was delicious!  We were able to share with alot of people and hopefully they will exercise their faith and step out in what Jesus is calling them to do.

September 28th--We rode to Mineral Wells today.  As we were riding through town, the Holy Spirit led us to The River Church.  When we pulled in, there were people there.  They were having a birthday party.  We shared with them and went home with the birthday family.  Christopher had a great time.  Their were 14 boys having a campout in the back yard.
     September 29th
--We fellowshipped at River Church this morning  and at Indian Creek Baptist Church this evening.  The music leader at Indian Creek was stepping out into evangelism and today was his last day.  We were able to encourage him to walk where God wants him, no matter what anyone says.  The kids were able to minister in the youth group.

October 1-2--We spent a couple of days in Breckenridge.  We were able to share with alot of people, in the park, at the Library, at the store.  We also fellowshipped at a church there.
While we were eating lunch at a restaurant, a newspaper reporter called and asked to set up an interview.  A lady had seen us pull in and had called her.  She came over and interviewed us.  We were able to witness to her.

October 4th--We rode from Albany to Anson today.  We went over the "nine mile hill".  We had been hearing about this hill for 150 miles!  We heard that it was nine miles long with an eleven percent grade!  Some said that it was two hills, straight up!  Some said that it was three hills, separated by a little flat!  Needless to say we were dreading this hill!  The mind plays tricks on us.  We need to think on things that are uplifting, not on negative things.
When we got to the hill, we found that there were three of them.  The first one was a gradual mile climb.  Then there was two miles of flat and down hill.  The second one was two miles long.  Then there was about two miles of flat and down hill.  The third one was a little steeper, but only a mile long.  All in all, it was no worse than the hills of Kansas.
After we had gone up the second hill, a truck pulled over on the side of the road.  A guy (Chad) got out and walked up to us with a big smile.  He said that he had talked to a guy from Bethany Baptist in Breckenridge that said that we had gone to church there on Wednesday.  We said yes we had.  The guy had said that we were "Jesus Freaks" and were riding our bicycles on 180.  Chad said, "If you're Jesus Freaks and walking in what God has I needed to meet you!  That is such a rarity to find."  He was the pastor of the Cowboy Church in Breckenridge. (40 miles back)  God had been telling him to quit his job and trust Him for about a year.  About six months ago he did and has been seeing miracles ever since, even though everyone thinks he's crazy!  He blessed us with a love offering before he left.  It was such an encouragement meeting Chad!  It is awesome to meet people who are walking in what God has for them!

October 6th--We went to the First Baptist in Roby today.  The pastor was all excited to have us there.  We were able to share a little in Sunday School.  In the evening service we were able to share with the people what God has been doing out here.  We were able to spend some time with the Pastor encouraging him.  .
