In design, in pattern of color, and, above all, in alinear quality suggestive of a disciple of Ingres, the thing hasextraordinary fineness. If work like that is nurtured on tradition,then surely tradition once more splendidly affirms itself.' . . .Awarded silver medal at the Royal Academy, Munich; Honorable mention,Chicago Art Institute, 1922. Walter F. Lippincott Prize, 125th annualexhibition, Penna Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, 1939."
