~ Milking the Bosk ~
The three-legged milking stool and sterile pails are kept in the milk shed.  The Bosk are in a corral near the shed.  They are milked by pulling on the teats.  The buckets are emptied into a vat in the milk shed.
1.  Make sure the milk pail is clean and free of any
other liquid or debris.  Move the stool beside the
Bosk and take a seat, to one side in case the Bosk
decides to ... well you know {laughs}.  Be gentle,
quiet and soothing.  The Bosk can be ornery and
give better milk when at ease.
2.  Carefully check the teats for any sores, fungus,
chapping, etc.  Chapping can be treated with salve,
but anything too severe should be looked at, and the
milk from the Bosk not used.  Everything okay?
3.  Gently grasp one teat in each hand, pulling down
firmly and steadily in an alternating rhythm until the
     teat is empty.
4.  Take the milk into the kitchen or milk shed and pour
it into the milk vat and place it in the cold room.
Clean the pails and you are done!
