~ Curing & Preserving Meats ~
Meats can be dried and made into jerky, hung up and smoked like hams, salted down in barrels, and canned or frozen in the winter.  Some examples would be:  jerky, potted meat, preserving wild game, drying foods, drying seeds or nuts and fruits, leather and of course, canning.
