         Stand in hachiji dachi, after the ranking instructor calls tski, and that every karateka above you in rank have kneeled, kneel with the left knee touching the ground first (figure 1.1).

          Put your other knee on the ground and sit on the back of your legs with your toes touching (figure 1.2)

         Keep your back straight and put your hands on your thighs (figure 1.3), your palms facing downwards (figure 1.4). Wait in silence for the ranking instructor to call mokuso (meditation).

         After the ranking instructor calls mokuso, relax, close your eyes (figure 1.5), turn your hands so that the back of your hands are facing downwards (figure 1.6).

Wait in silence, empty your mind,  meditate.

         The ranking instructor will call tski, put your hands on your thighs (figure 1.7), your palms facing downwards (figure 1.8). Wait in silence for the ranking instructor to call rei.
