ADD/ADHD

Here are numerous testimonies regarding children who suffer from ADD/ADHD it is so wonderful to hear of these results and a way to avoid the dangers of Ritalin!!!

Hi. My name is Whitney Smith, and I'm eleven years old. Now I'm going to tell you my experience with Ritalin. I had been taking Ritalin for at least three years. I took it because I have ADD and I'd take it every morning when I went to school, then after lunch, and again at three o'clock in the afternoon. At a certain point of the day, and that certain point of the day would be when we were doing math, (and it's not because I don't like math, it's because that's when it kicked in), I would start getting migraine headaches and just feel ridiculously awful. I also didn't understand what was going on at this point, and since I had been taking Ritalin for so long, I couldn't really tell if it was working. I'd come from school with one study link that should only take a second to do, but it would take me more than an hour to finish it. I would get very frustrated an math, (and it's not because I don't like math, it's because that's when it kicked in), I would start getting migraine headaches and just feel ridiculously awful. I also didn't understand what was going on at this point, and since I had been taking Ritalin for so long, I couldn't really tell if it was working. I'd come from school with one study link that should only take a second to do, but it would take me more than an hour to finish it. I would get very frustrated and confused, and then ask my Mom if she would help me. Being the wonderful, outstanding person that she is, she would say "yes." But I always just thought she was wrong and Then, on parent/teacher conference night, my teacher said she noticed
I was tired a lot and had bags under my eyes. The only thing I noticed was the two awful looking D's on my report card, (nicely written ... hard to miss!). After that I wasn't too confident anymore ... especially with all the C's loaded up behind those D's! I also had a problem with talking too much in class, which didn't surprise me at all. If you know or are now realizing, I am a very wild, and talkative person.
Now we're going to talk about my "Life Saver." At home, my parents had all these bottles of Herbalife. I asked in a very loving, sweet voice, "What the heck is all this stuff, and what's it for?" So, my mom gave me some stuff called N.R.G. She said it would help me concentrate. My mom and dad started noticing a difference right away! (Excuse me, I forgot to introduce my parents. This is my dad, Mike, "Hi," and my mom Lisa, "Hi." So now that you've met my parents, Mike and Lisa Johnson, we can go on.) My mom asked our doctor if he would sign the school authorization papers so that I could get off the Ritalin and get the NRG in school. He said he would do anythingto get me off a controlled substance. So, I started taking the NRG at the times that I used to take the Ritalin, and when I got to school I was ready to go to work! I didn't know why I was so ready, but at least I felt ready. I wasn't nervous for tests or anything! And, when I got my test back, instead of getting a 50%, I got a 95% ... and boy was I happy! I was concentrating really good, too. I told my mom and she was really happy that it worked, (and also that we were not having any more awful, crying times trying to get my homework done). When it came to the end of 5th grade, and it was time for conferences again, we sat down and my teacher handed me the report card. I got eleven A's, ten B's, and 2 C's. So, I was extremely happy, and my teacher said that I didn't look so tired lately or have so much trouble talking too much in class.I was also happy to see the note on the bottom of the report card that said, "Have a nice time in 6th grade!" That's how NRG tabs have helped me!! Whitney also wanted us to know that she also takes Formula 1, Dinomins, Formula 3, Schizandra and Xtra-Cal on a daily basis. Thanks, Whitney,
for sharing your story!

This is our first experience with ADD & the Ritilan stuff. This past July,  Barb was at Cub Scout Day Camp for a week. She observed an 8 to 10 year old boy just out of control. He was hitting everyone, cursing, and could not be calmed down. His Mother had to finally throw him on the ground, sit on him and wrap both her arms and legs around him to keep him calmed down until his Dad could bring him some horrible Ritilan. He was then able to calm down. Barb had difficulty making contact with the Mother to try and get the youngster on NRG. She was finally able to meet with her and could only leave her some NRG samples. The Mother did not want to do anything to disrupt her son's treatment. The Mother kept her son on Ritilan and just gave him one NRG tablet at night and was not able to notice any difference. This past week the boy was going to go to a soccer camp all week. Just prior to leaving he ran out of the Ritilan. He left for the soccer camp with the NRG. The Mother was going to take him some Ritilan later in the day. Previously when playing soccer he had a difficult time playing the game. When he took the NRG and played everything was very clear and he played very well. He was also able to accept negative comments from other players. Before noon he called his Mom and told her to forget the Ritilan, that he was staying with the NRG. He told her that it calmed him more and he was to
concentrate better and that it curbed his cravings for food whereas before he was hungry all the time. The Mother called Barb this evening. She is coming over to purchase some NRG. We now have more of an appreciation for Mark's desire to take these products around the world. This really got to Barb after seeing the boy
being so out of control and not able to help himself.

Hi Group! Just want to pass along a testimonial on the NRG product that I heard from one of my local distributors this evening. She works at a daycare center and knew that several kids were on Ritalin for ADD/ADHD. She offered info on NRG to their parents and several of the kids have been able to function without Ritalin and the use of NRG. But, the neatest thing I heard this evening is about a 13 year old boy who was taking a very large dose of Ritalin for LED (learning and emotional disorder). He takes 2 NRG along with a calcium tablet and magnesium tablet in the morning and then in the evening he again takes 2 NRG and 2 calcium/magnesium tablets. He's functioning normally, sleeps well, and is able to concentrate in school. Isn't that neat? Evidently the symptoms of LED are pretty much the same as ADD/ADHD. In case you ever run across a child with this diagnosis, here's a product testimonial  that proves NRG works for this, too.
Kind regards, Carole Creech

Here are two testimonies that I had saved on the computer. If you feel you need more, let me know. I do have more in a file and I will fax them to you. I put my 9 year old daughter on 1 NRG tablet in the morning before school....seems to be working. Sometimes it is hard  to tell because she is not hyper or disruptive...just doesn't concentrate enough to get decent grades. In any event, I don't think any of our products can hurt...just start in small dosages. Kathy

Richard Wallen wrote: Greetings, I have a young mother who contacted me through our referral system in regards to NRG testimonies for ADHD and ADD children... Her son is eight years of age and we started him on 1 NRG tabs 2x's and is now at 1 tabs 3x's... she knew it was working as he no longer climbed the walls, walked/ran across all (and she did/does mean all) the furniture, his appetite picked up a lot and he was sleeping all night, which accounts for the dark rings disappearing from under his young eyes... After almost 3 weeks on the product, he is just now telling her that the
tabs are a bit hard to swallow, even though she is breaking them in half...sometimes he chews them (yuck!), but said they are quite bitter I knew that! My question is... has anyone else came across this dilemma and if so, did you try to go with the NRG Tea and have the same results. I'll have to assume (I really do hate that word!) that a half teaspoon would be equal to one tablet. Considering that she is having great results with the tabs, she is quite leary of experimenting at this time due to the exhausting experience of this energized child before being introduced to Herbalife products
Thanks! Richard, Alabama
 1. We are wondering how to go about working with the school on that. Does she simply revoke the permission for the nurse to give him Ritalin? 2. I also have Dr. McManus' instructions on how much NRG to take (morning & evening). Does that mean the child does not take any during the day when he's in school? Does he still take the Ritalin and cut back later? ~Veronica

Veronica, My 9 yr old son has ADHD and currently takes two 5 mg tabs of Ritalin each morning, 2 more at noon (given at achool) and one more at 4:30> pm. We have tried making the change to NRG but have had limited success. Although we are still trying to fnd what is best for him. I would caution against "revoking permission to dispense" the Ritalin by  the school until the pediatrician/psychiatrist authorizes it. I say this because spontaneously discontinung the prescribed dosage could result in erecting communication barriers between the physician and the patient. If he does need to
resume the Ritalin while at school and the permission has been revoked, physician authorization woud be needed allover again. This could result in the child not getting the dosage on time for several days. BELIEVE ME, NEITHER THE PARENT OR THE CHILD NEEDS THIS ADDITIONAL CHALLENGE!!! Most of the testamonies I've read regarding Ritalin or Cylert and NRG focus on first altering the late afternoon dosage when the child is at home and can be monitored. Once success has been experienced at that time, the next dosage can be examined. I would STRONGLY recommend leaving the noon or School-dispensed dosage until last.

I want to tell you about my 14 year old son. He's been what / guess you would call a difficult child even before he was born. He's a real intelligent boy but he's never done very well in school and he always seemed to be in trouble at school and at home. Last spring, he was officially diagnosed as having Attnetion Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
His doctor prescribed Ritalin Ritalin didn't seem to do much and he has side effects from it. He couldn't sleep and he didn't have any appetite and he hadn't grown since he started taking it. He was only sleeping about three hours a night. I was reading through some of the stuff you sent me and read that for kids that are hyperactive that the NRG tablets have the opposite effect as they have on us. So l thought I'd give it a try and l just can't believe the difference in him. He's doing reaI well at school. He's not getting in trouble. He's sleeping at night and he's even pleasant to be around. I just give him one in the morning and then he takes another one at lunchtime at school and sometimes he has one of home when he gets home at night, if he feels like he needs it. And he says it works a hundred times better than Ritalin. I just can't believe the difference in him. ~Betty

As far as the NRG is concerned and kids, I give it to my son who is nine years old and we did it as an experiment at first just to see what it would do for him. It calmed him down quite a bit. He's not ADD, Attention Deficit but he does get very emotional. My son is nine years old and l give in the morning if he stayed up late the night before or when he's going to school In the morning, I give him one in the morning and sometimes one in the afternoon. NRG. I also give him a vitamin (formula 2) twice a day and cell activator twice a day and they drink, all three of my kids drink chocolate
mllk with the Formula One. It's doing all three of them super. That's my testimony. ~ Scott

My eight year old daughter was diagnosed a year ago with ADD.- She was put on medication and things went downhill from there She went from about sixty pounds when it started down to about forty- nine, had dark circles under her eyes, no energy, didn't even want to play with other kids. Her concentration was off She was always hanging out in front of the TV and no energy at all. -1 mean no energy. Had outbursts that she would never in a million years dream of doing, you know, trying to kick car windows out when you put her in the car and just crazy, crazy behavior Llke "Where dld this kid come from ". you know. Her grades went up In school, so that was like the one bonus because everything else was tolling apart for her. She was nasty to her other sisters and kind of aggressive. We heard that NRG helps kids with ADD so my husband and / thought we'd definitely give that a try. I thought that sounded like the way to go. So we came home and put her on one IVRG tablet in the morning and then one again that we put in her lunch box with her, to school, in the afternoon. And it was phenomenal. within a week she had gained about five pounds back She's eating everything in the house. Dark circls under her eyes were gone. She was sound asleep by nine o'clock at night, which prior to that had been like one o'clock in the morning. You know, I'd be getting ready to go to bed and she's still there wide-eyed and bushy tailed. And in addition to that, her grades are maintaining at school, she's doing great. And it's like Herbalife has given me back my eight- year-old child. l mean, we have such a close relationship
again because, you know, she's under control. things are gong well for her. And you know. that is just worth every penny in the world to me to see my child come around full circle like that. I'm so grateful to HL for that, you know. And like I said, the money's fun, the program's fun, you know, l'm still astounded, it's just great. But l'll tell you to have Rachal back full force like she is, and doing great at eight years old is just the bigges blessing for our family for sure. And we just love it. You know, we're definitely HL for life now. We love the products and love the program and evevything. So I just wanted to, you know, share that with the group. It maybe another parent has a child with ADD, it's something to think about. It definitely works in our case and we love it. It's super. ~Dave and Ruth, MI

My son, Trevor, who is now l6 years old has A.D.D. When he was younger he also had the hyperactivity along with but had the type that kids grow out of. He had such a hard time stayiug focused, organized, etc. So typical and so damn frustrating, I started him on 2 NRG and 2 CALCIUM two times a day. It has helped him so mucb I can't believe it. Unfortunately, because I found out about it so late in his school life the first few years have been a wash as far as learning how to organize, etc.... so I really have to work hard to help him get it together and set his goals, get work in, all stuff he should know how to do on his own by now. At least Herbalife came along before
he was a total lost cause. He can actually stay on task and accomplish something now and I can't tell you what a blessing tbat is not only for me but he realizes that he isn't a stupid kid. There was a gal at a meeting in Seattle once about 2 years ago who said her daughter was so hyper she had to slowly take her off of medicauon
and it took 6 months, As she was taking her off of medication she -added 2 NRG, 6 CALCIUM, 2 or 3 times a day. A failing student who they were told, must be slightly retarded, is now an A student off all medication. P J. Gatto

Subject: ADULT ADD
From TouchFON Bob, Annapolis, MD

One of the things that I overcame using the nutritional products from HL was Attention Deficit Disorder. I wasn't diagnosed with ADD until very late In life and well into my forties. Its a very complex condition to diagnose-I became part of a study from the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. They put me through six weeks of real interesting tests. Like I've never seen tests like those tests that they puDisorder. I was But nonetheless I had what they call ADD/RF, which is a residual state for adults, and there's a lot of things that goes on in the brain over the course of life for people who have this disorder. Essentially what happens is that you find ways of compensating for it, and that's what adults essentially do is they find ways of compensating for the deficit disorder...it's a condition that twenty percent of the population actually has to some degree or another. But nonetheless, I was in the midst of this study when I joined HL back around August of '95. In September l started on the nutritional products and by October they were doing the quarterly testing that I'd been going through as part of this adult study. And they were absolutely shocked to find that the wiring disfiguration in the brain was gone. Somehow or another, with the cellular nutrition, completely overcame the disorder, including the underlying cause. I don't know which of the products was responsible because I was on virtually everything. But the basic Cellular Nutrition concept certainly got a plus in my book.

CHRIS: This is on attention deficit disorders for kids that are on Ritalin. I've heard this, I've heard this about 10 times from 10 different mothers that they're doing this and it's working.

DEBBIE H. And I wanted to tell you about my 14 year old son. He's been what you'd call, I guess, a difficult child since even before he was born. He's a real intelligent boy, but he's never done very well in school and he always seemed to be in trouble at school and at home, and last spring he was officially diagnosed as having attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and the doctor prescribed Ritalin. I just can't believe the difference in him, and I was wondering if anyone else out there had had any experience like this.

LILLIAN B.: I was listening to the comments about NRG and ADD/ADHD. As
you know, I teach at the adult learning center here in Carlasbad,California. I am one of only 2 so far who are willing to work with the learning disabled. And one of my learners has ADHD. I recently discovered that Pignoginal, which is an ingredient in
our cell activator, has been demonstrated as having remarkable effects in the treatment of this disorder. They're using it on the ratio of one gram per pound of body weight in treatment for ADD and as well as several other serious problems including Lupus with most encouraging results. If the lady who is giving NRG for this would add the cell activator, Formula 3, I'll bet you there would be even greater benefits.  In researching this I've learned that ADD and ADHD is massively present in North America and it's estimated that as many as one-third of our young boys and 10% of our adult population are afflicted. Well, there's a great market for us. Theories abound, of course, but no facts exist as to the cause of this problem. Treatment with Pignoginal have been more encouraging than anything else so far. It's 20 times more powerful than the same amount of VitaminC and 50 times more powerful than the same amount of vitamin E. It truly does revolutionize the natural healing ability of the body and demonstrates the capability of slowing, if not reversing, the aging process dramatically. I thought you would find this interesting.
BRENDA WOOD: I wanted to tell you that we are preparing a testimony, a written testimony on ADD and ADHD. I happen to have a son who is now 19 years old that from about his 5th month of life we knew there was something definitely different about this child. And he's super intelligent and very genius level, but he -- now that
he's 19 his hyperactivity has settled down, he's not so quite off the wall and bouncing off the walls and just having excess energy. However, his disorganization skills aren't -- you know, any organizational skills are just not there. Forgetfulness, turn around and lose something, all that kind of stuff that makes life miserable for him is still right there. He is doing the NRG. What he decided to do is he kind of has them randomly taking it and he feels like it helps him 100 percent more than Riilin ever did, and in fact has recommended it to some of his teenage friends who have to take Ritilian and many, many of them in school have to be called down to the office separately to take the Ritilian and it singles them out and they don't like that. So they just won't take it.So he has been running around recommending this to his friends. My son was very depressed. There was times I was afraid of suicide and etc. His life has improved a great deal. He sees his way clear now. So I just wanted to offer that.

Debbie Wineberg, Fountain, CO: I just finished listening to all of the incredible product testimonies and thought I'd put one in for children. My daughter is Samantha and she will be 3in November. She was always the sick one in the family. She's always at the doctor's office routinely for ear infections, runny nose or any other thing you can pick up from day care. And she was 36" tall and weighed the same 26 pounds that she weighed when she was 12 months old. She was on Kindermins since January but in May she started stealing her 8 year old brother's products. Today she is 47" tall and weighs 30 pounds. The first 2 pounds she gained in 2 weeks of this program that we designed for the kids. Her program consists of 1 to 2 Health & Fitness Formula 1 cookie bars as a snack every day, 1 Dinomins in the morning and I dropper of  Kindermins in the evening. For some reason if she doesn't get both Dinomins and Kindermins, she comes from day care with a running nose every single time. Now my son Timothy, he's 8 years old and he was diagnosed at the age of 4 with ADHD. We put him on 10 milligrams of Ritalin shortly after he started kindergarten a year later and every year since has had to have an increase in
dosage. Well, this past February Timothy reached 30 milligrams 7 days a week, and that's the highest dosage a child can receive; and anyone out there who has researched this subject at all knows that he probably has a few years of getting worse before he's going to get better. On top of that, Timothy is 4'5" and he only 51 pounds. His metabolism was so high that he would eat -- not snack -- eat every hour and a half and hadn't gained a pound in 2 years. Today Timothy is 4'5" and weighs 60 pounds. He gained the first 5 pounds in the first 2 weeks that he put this program together. And his program consists of 2 Health & Fitness Formula 1 either in a cookie bar, sprinkled on his ice cream and in shake, 2 Dimomins - 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon - and 4 to 6 NRG tablets every 5 hours. It depends on
With the help of NRG we've been able to start weaning him off of his Ritalin.

Timothy had an incident, his birthday was August 7th, and he spent it in the emergency room having to have catheters because he could not urinate on his own and the doctor suspected it very much has to do with the high dosage of Ritalin that he's on. Timothy overheard the doctor and I talking and he caught onto it real quick and decided then that that's it, he's not taking it anymore.
