Southern Island is one of two hidden islands in Ruby & Sapphire. Unlike Mirage Island, Southern Island is of more importance in the game. There is an item called the Eon Ticket, which can be obtained in special Nintendo/Pokemon events, such as the ones that gave Mew and Celebi away in the past years. Once you have obtained this item, you can go on over to the Lilycove Harbor, hop on board the ship, and you'll disembark for your destination - Southern Island. Once your there, you'll see a forest which you can enter.

After entering, walk up to the egg-like monument, and a legendary Eon Pokemon will appear. However, which Eon Pokemon you encounter will depend on which version you are playing. If Sapphire, Latios appears. If Ruby, Latias appears. They will be at level 50 when you make the encounter. Make sure to save before you fight the Pokemon, because you'll have only one chance to fight/capture it! After the fight, the egg will do nothing more than say "All dreams are but another reality. Never forget..." |
