Pokemon Abilities - another new and exciting twist to the category of Pokemon battles. Abilities are basically special powers/characteristics each and every Pokemon have. It sounds like I'm talking about a regular old Pokemon attack, but characteristics are really more convenient. Each Pokemon will have a unique Ability. They're pretty much like the Pokemon Powers in the TCG. Each time a Pokemon attacks a particular Pokemon, something happens. It actually varies on the Pokemon. Different kinds can either benefit your Pokemon, do damage to the opponent, deal damage to you, etc. Here is a list of each Pokemon Ability/Characteristic and their descriptions: |

Air Lock Not affected by weather effects Arena Trap Prevents opponent from fleeing Battle Armor Prevents critical hits Blaze Power of Fire-type attacks increases if HP is low Chlorophyll Raises speed in sunshine Clear Body Pokemon is not affected by any stat-lowering move Cloud Nine Cancels out weather effects Color Change Pokemon's type changes to the type of the opponent's previous attack Compound Eyes Raises accuracy during battle Cute Charm Infatuates on contact Damp Prevents the use of Explosion in battle Drizzle Starts rainfall when Pokemon is sent into battle Drought Starts a very strong sunlight Early Bird Pokemon wakes up from Sleep faster Effect Spore Opponent may become paralyzed, poisoned, burned, or asleep if attacked directly Flame Body Opponent may become burned if touched Flash Fire Attack and Special Attack go up when hit by fire attacks Forecast Changes type depending on the weather Guts Attack rises when the Pokemon has a status condition Huge Power Highers Attack when in battle Hustle Attack goes up and accuracy goes down Hyper Cutter Prevents lowering of Attack Illuminate Chance of finding a wild Pokemon is increased Immunity Prevents poison condition Inner Focus Prevents flinching Insomnia Prevents sleeping Intimidate Reduces opponent's Attack power Keen Eye Prevents accuracy from being lowered Levitate Prevents becoming struck by Ground-type attacks Lightning Rod The Pokemon with this ability will take all electric damage during 2-on-2 battles Limber Pokemon cannot be paralyzed Liquid Ooze Causes damage when HP is absorbed Magma Armor Prevents freezing Magnet Pull Keeps Steel-type Pokemon from escaping Marvel Scale Defense increases when Pokemon has a status condition Minus Increases Special Attack when Plusle is in battle Natural Cure Cures status conditions when Pokemon is taken out of battle Oblivious Prevents attraction Overgrow Power of Grass-type attacks increases when HP is low Own Tempo Preevnts confusion Pick Up A Pokemon mat get an item after battle Plus Special Attack increases when Minun is in battle Poison Point Poisons opponent 30% of the time Pressure Decreases opponent's PP by 2 when hit Rain Dish Gains HP when it's raining Rock Head Prevents recoil damage Rough Skin Opponent recieves recoil damage if directly attacked Run Away Escaping is easier Sand Stream Summons a sandstorm Sand Veil Evasiveness increases during a sandstorm Serene Grace Additional effects happen more often Shadow Tag Opponent can't switch or escape Shed Skin Status conditions may last 1 turn Shell Armor Cannot be hit by critical hits Shield Dust Pokemon can't be burned, frozen, paralyzed, or confused Soundproof Cannot be hit by sound attacks Speed Boost Increases Speed every turn Static Opponent may become paralyzed if it's hit directly Stench Decreases chances of running into wild Pokemon Sticky Hold Held items cannot be stolen Sturdy Can't be fainted by 1-hit KO attacks Suction Cups Cannot be switched by Opponent's Roar or Whirlwind Swarm Power of Bug-type attacks rises when HP is low Swift Swim Doubles Speed in rain Synchronize If your Pokemon has a status condition, the opponent will also get it Thick Fat Reduces damage from Fire and Ice attacks Torrent Power of Water-type attacks increases when HP is low Trace Copies the opponent's ability Truant Pokemon does nothing every other turn Vital Spirit Prevents sleeping Volt Absorb Gains HP when hit by an Electric attack Water Absorb Gains HP when hit by a Water attack Water Veil Prevents burn condition White Smoke Prevents moves from reducing stats Wonder Guard Can only be hit by attacks that are super effective |
