High Country Audubon Society
High Country Audubon Society is North Carolina's newest Audubon chapter.  Located in the northwest corner of the state the Chapter includes Avery, Ashe, Alleghany, Watauga and Wilkes Counties.  We are dedicated to enjoying and helping to protect our local birds.

HCAS offers monthly chapter meetings and field trips, as well as at least one big annual trip.  This chapter is designed to encourage both beginning birders and experts alike and to engage in conservation, education and research of birds of Western North Carolina.
