The Grades You Earn
Students often wonder what it will take to earn a good grade in science.  The following statements should make student responsibilities clear and inform you about what Mrs. Jenner takes into account when developing grades each marking period.
Each marking period, students will be evaluated on the following:
            > Being prepared every day with classwork and
               homework assignments, both science notebooks,
your Agenda, science folder, and pencils.
            > Following classroom rules, procedures,
               and teacher directions.
            > Participating in class discussions and answering
questions--science is not a spectator sport.
               Be prepared to talk!
            > Participating and cooperating with a
               partner or team.
            > Daily & weekly performance assessments.
            > Successfully
completing all class work
               and homework [N-C-A-A: neat, complete,
               accurate, and available on time].
            > Quality of student products, for example,
data tables, graphs, plans, paragraphs, etc.
            > Keeping science notebooks complete and
               up-to-date, even if absent.
            > Meeting criteria on Type I & II "Do Now"
               thinking & writing assignments.
            > Scoring on quizzes, tests, and special
               writing assignments.
            > Completing student-selected, self-directed

EXTRA CREDIT activities

F.Y.I.: To get an "A" in this class, you must
plan to come prepared for every class,
complete all class assignments,
complete all homework assignments,
keep both notebooks up-to-date,
study & score well on quizzes and tests,
and do some EXTRA CREDIT work
every marking period.
