Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada

Decembr 28, 1996, 3:00 PM

On Saturday, December 28, 1996, at 3:00 PM, a residents of Thunder Bay, Ontario saw a silvery object in the southwestern sky, seemingly hovering over the Sibley Peninsula, a wilderness park jutting out into Lake Superior.

The Thunder Bay Chronicle-Journal received calls from dozens of eyewitnesses, as did Ivan Sherlock, director of the Thunder Bay chapter of MUFON. The object was visible from Hillcrest Park, Victoria Avenue, the Intercity Shopping Center on Fort William Road and the Port Arthur waterfront section of the city.

Captain George Paterson of the city's Salvation Army chapter told reporter Gail Cohen of the Chronicle-Journal, "We saw something over the harbour Saturday," adding that he was originally " not a believer and thought it was a helicopter or a balloon, but the object left the area very quickly. It was definitely there, and it was interesting enough to get my attention."

Three days earlier, on December 21, Lori Eaton and her husband were driving down John Street when they saw "a white light" to the southwest near the city's landfill site. "We looked up, and the white light was gone, and there were blue and green lights," she said. "I've never seen anything like it." As they drew closer, she added, the object hovered right over their car before zooming off.

In November, solitary UFOs were seen in Sudbury, Ontario and Ardbeg, Ontario, just east of Lake Huron.

Lake Ontaio, Canada

January 18, 1997, 7:00 AM.

On Saturday, January 18, 1997, Canadians living on the north shore of Lake Ontario were startled by the sight of a UFO squadron. The seven UFOs, described as "similar to lights in a show on TV," apparently first appeared over the smaller Rice Lake, passed over Harwood and Cold Springs, and crossed the Lake Ontario shoreline near Port Hope, Ontario. Witnesses in Port Hope reported seeing the UFOs flying high and zigzagging across the sky over the big lake at about 7:00 AM.

Many Thanks to Jennifer Jarvis of ORBWATCH at:

Lakeshore At Oakville, Ontario, Canada

March 22, 1997, 8:14 PM

The Southern Ontario CSETI working group, led by Jennifer Jarvis, spotted three orange-sphere UFOs over Lake Ontario at 8:14 PM on Saturday, March 22, 1997.

The group had gone to the lakeshore at Oakville, Ontario, near Port Credit to skywatch when "three orange orbs, lights, but not emitting light" appeared over the lake midway between Oakville and St. Catharines, Ontario on the south shore.

"These things were brilliant orange-to-yellow, hovered, and did not fade out. They submerged, " Jarvis reported. "All three wet below the surface of the water."

Despite rainy weather, the group continued its vigil throughout the week, periodically spying the same type of orange-sphere UFO. On Wednesday, March 26, 1997, one orange globe reportedly "returned signals" from the CSETI group before submerging.

Jarvis's went to Grimsby, Ontario on Saturday, March 29, 1997 to triangulate the UFOs position over the lake.

Thanks To CSETI Group.

Oshawa, Ontario, Canada

March 27, 1997, 7:40 PM

On Thursday, March 27, at 7:30 PM, Peter K. left his house in Oshawa, Ontario, 30 miles (48 kilometers) east of Toronto to look for the comet Hal-Bopp and saw "the most unsual aerial display I ever hope to see.
Two objects coming from the southwest to the Northwest at very high altitude. Only lasted 4 or 5 seconds before they disappeared into the light pollution on the northern horizon."

At 8:10 PM, Peter went outside again, saw some cirrus clouds moving in, went to the other side of the house to look eastward and spotted three orange-sphere UFOs. he then called his girl friend Sonja in Bowmanville.

At 9:52 PM, he went outdoors once more and saw "ten of these things. Saw two flying west to east, followed by a formation of four (two pairs) at much lower altitude. Spectacular ! saw another pair going east to west and a few singles going south to north and north to south."

Many Thanks to Jennifer Jarvis and Errol Bruce-Knapp for this story.

Sudbury, Ontario, Canada

November 23, 1996, 5:30 PM

On Saturday, November 23, 1996, about an hour after dark at 5:30 PM, Gordon T. looked out the window of his third-floor apartment in Sudbury, Ontario and "saw a ball of light about the size of a dime held at arm's length. It drifted across the horizon t eye level." (Gordon's apartment is 50 feet above ground). The UFO "drifted like a balloon across the horizon," he added, "It seemed to stop once or twice but may have been moving away fro me. It lasted for about ten minutes and moved from north to south," heading for Georgian Bay and Lake Huron.

A second Sudbry man also saw the object and notified MUFON Ontario. Sudbury is the pemier nickel-mining city of Canada and is located 258 miles (373 kilometers) north of Toronto.

Sudbury, Ontario, Canada

November 29, 1996, 2:00 AM

At about 2:00 AM on Friday, November 29, 1996, a northbound Canadian National (CNR) freight train encountered a UFO similar to the one seen in Sudbury, Ontario the previous week. The train had left the railyard in Barrie, near Toronto, earlier that day, bound for Capreol, a mining town just north Sudbury.

The train had two-man crew consisting of an engineer and a conductor and moved along the lonely CN track through the Boreal Forest at a leisurely 20 to 30 miles per hour. As the train approached Ardbeg, which is located 20 miles (32 kilometers) north of Lake Huron's Parry Sound, the two men "saw an ornage and green light come down from the sky."

The men "first saw the light through the right (engineer's) window (of the locomotive)" and "thought it was going to crash."

The UFO then hovered 600 yards (540 meters) from the CN train at 45 degrees above the treeline. They described the UFO as "bing the size of a street light at 600 yards." Minutes later, the object "flew off to the west," apparently heading for Lake Huron.

Todd Fraser of MUFON Ontario is investigating this case.

Northern Ontario, Canada

April 3, 1997, 4:00 AM

During the early morning hours of Thursday, April 3, 1997, an Anishinabe man living at the Wikemikong Indian Reserve on Manitoulin Island, located in Lake Huron's Georgian Bay, spotted a UFO.

The eyewitness "happened to look out of his living room window and noticed a yellow, saucer shaped object a few degrees above the horizon. In the foreground stood a street light. The time was approximately 4:00 AM, and the sky was overcast. He estimated the object to be about half a cigarette held at arm's length. He also said at one point, the light blinked out for half a second or so, then reappeared. Soon after, the object disappeared from view."

The man "told his girlfriend about the sighting the next day. She said it must have been the northern lights.
He responded by saying that the UFO was in the southern part of the sky (over Lake Huron) and the northern lights usually occur in the Northern sky.".

Southern Ontario, Canada

May 22, 1997, 10:30 PM

On Thursday May 22, 1997, at around 10:30 PM, amateur astronomer Nicholas K. set up his Schmidt - Cassegrain telescope in his backyard in the town of Tillsonburg, Ontario. The town is 94 miles (150 kilometers) southwest of Toronto.

Nick was looking around the sky "to find galaxies in the Big Dipper" when he spied "a giant white cloud and against it as a background saw a cigar shaped object the size of an airplane, black or brown in color."
The UFO was "unlit" and it had four or five wings at right angles to and along its body. The object passed right over the witness, who kept it in view for 30 to 40 seconds.

Flew at high speed of a plane, he reported, No sound from the object. No idea of height but beneath cloud.
It hadn't rained. Intermittent view of stars and planets. Close to full moon time. Didn't see craft through telescope. Nick's daughter was with him at the time, but since it was near bed time, she didn't have her glasses on.

Many Thanks to Joe Daniels for sending us this story.

Lake Ontario

November 4, 1990, 1:00 AM

On November 4th, 1990 at approx, 1 AM, I was getting ready to go to bed for the evening. My husband , children, and my sister who was visiting, had already turned in for the evening. I had watching an "Elvira Mistress of the Dark" movie with my brother-in-law, when I looked up at the clock. Realizing it was way past my bedtime I got up to lock the sliding glass doors to our balcony. At the time we were living on the 10th floor of an apt. building, and has I had young children it was my habit to make sure those were locked. I will also mention this apartment had a SSE exposure with a clear view of Lake Ontario, and the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. As I went to lock the door I observed a large, red, glowing orb. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. In my pajamas I stepped out onto the balcony. I noted that the orb seemed to be in the vicinity of the nuclear power plant.

My mind raced with all the possibilities, a plane, a search light, quickly discounting each. I yelled out for my brother in law who was at my side in seconds. I was yelling "what is it" ? He started yelling, "it's a UFO" ! he had grabbed my arm, and I glanced down to see gooseflesh. Almost immediately after he said that, the full moon sized orb, began to pulsate. And for some inexplicable reason, for which I cannot fathom I said, "they know we can see them". I include this statement despite the fact it goes against my credibility as a witness. There are too many others who have come forward with their experiences, for me to lack the bravery to be completely truthful with my recounting of this event. After the pulsating the UFO, which appeared octagon in shape imploded on itself, turning to a speck, and shooting straight up. At this point my brother-in-law's memory and mine differ. he says he saw the orb implode, but not shoot up into the sky. I cannot explain the difference in our memories. I looked down towards the street and saw a single car drive eastward. I remember thinking we cannot be alone in seeing this. We went inside, and sat up in the kitchen discussing everything within our own experiences that could rationally explain what we had witnessed (despite my strange comment of a "them")... we were up until 4:00 AM and I ran back to the sliding doors a few times that night to see if the orb had returned. It didn't, nor have we ever seen anything like it since.

My brother-in-law and I failed to report our sighting immediately. We both were afraid of, nor did not want to put up with ridicule. This was a big mistake. While events such as what we experienced tend to be burned into the brain, time has a way of diminishing the memory. Who knows what small seemingly insignificant detail could be lost, that actually maybe of great importance to an investigator. Fear of ridicule should never be a factor in what may prove to be the greatest discovery in our history, the existence of intelligent, extraterrestrial life forms !

September 23, 1993, 8:46 PM

I was at a friends house, at a sleepover. My friend was busy getting her sleeping bag ready when I looked out the window and saw, three big bright lights in the shape of a triangle. I watched the lights for a while, they were "dancing" around the sky. I remember I turned to my friend and said "you've got to see this !" She said "in a minute," So I turned back to the window and watched the lights. A moment later, the lights stopped "dancing". They suddenly picked up speed and zoomed into the distant sky. My friend came over to the window and asked what I was looking at. I said, "I don't know. I thought I saw something." No one ever believed me when I tell my story. I have seen these lights several times after, but I still can't get anyone to believe me.

Embro, Ontario

August 6, 1996, 9:00 PM

It was dusk and my buddy and I were heading from Clinton, Ontario to Woodstock on Embro Road which is a shortcut. His Dad has a carpet cleaning shop there. There is a train bridge right before the town and as we were coming into the town (this will sound ridiculous but it is the only explanation I have) a object similar to a moving truck except with lights of some sort was flying about ten meters above the bridge. It was heading across from us , so we could not follow it but stopped and watched as it flew over the landscape. The back was a rectangle just like a truck, it almost looked like the thing from spaceballs. This is a serious report.

My friend and I were skateboarding in a parking lot when my friend fell off his board and I went to see if he was alright. He didn't say or do anything when I turned around to see what he was looking at. There was a bright flash that didn't seem like it was going away. After running out of the parking lot into a donut shop we figured it must have been a UFO.

Some friends and I were at Jack darling Park, we saw something orange in the sky. At first it looked like the Moon. However, it was on the horizon and slowly gained in altitude while changing form the whole time. It also appeared to be getting smaller and then larger. I am not sure what we saw.

Toronto, Ontario

October 29, 1997, 7:18 PM

At sunset an unusual thunderstorm broke, which lasted briefly. The scene reminded a few of the witnesses of Noah's Ark, but without the big deluge. As the sun vanished a pair of UFOs were hovering in the northeast of an area adjacent to Toronto's international airport. Since the sun had not yet set I could clearly see the wingless black discs. Their lighting arrays were too spooky to be associated with normal aircraft - brilliant amber, and red. Later after dark I noticed from a rooftop patio a UFO circling the house. I had realized that hovering objects had been around for some time and wondered if it were possible to talk to these objects. The aim would be to allow the object to fly above one's airspeed freely. It would appear that somebody was listening. Presumably, of course, these silent flashing discs were even vertebrates or used microphones. I watched them hovering for about fifteen minutes in the west nearby some hydro-electricity lines. The UFOs began moving, usually in little circles around the airport perimeter. They would sometimes slowly climb into the air at an angle of about 45 degrees and then circle the house. Then, one began approaching the house from the west. It flew quite slowly over the house, without a sound, showing the bottom of the saucer with a grid of flashing red, white and blue lights and surrounded by pale white rim lights. A dog was barking nervously at the intersection as it flew by. Back in the west I saw another saucer approaching the house. This time, a it flew over, the object resembled a normal aircraft, although I wasn't sure whether the engine noise was actually an amplification of the saucer's own motor or in fact if the object did not have a perfectly regular aircraft outline, but from the rear it appeared appended in some manner, as if dislocated by its own anti-gravity forces.
