Hearsay:

12/11/06 - a happy ending and many sequential beginnings:

The opal ovals are a slain beast now. Date of death was November 28th, and bernard dolan even pitched a hand in.

We played an extended set that covered "The Summertime Machine" in it's entirety, entirely performed out of order, featuring emcee queue and bernard dolan on the lyrical performance. Emcee also included an incredible closing solo, ending the performance on the most "rocking out" the opal ovals have ever seen this side of the mississippi (as well as the other). Everyone there performed some part of the performance on either drums, kids instruments, in vocal sounds, and everyone played to their most incredible ability. Monster sang, which was an opal ovals first. Livingston's drumming was unmatched in precision and monkey-like flailing. It was easily one of our best performances ever, and the energy was phenomenal. It was resounding, and I broke my guitar again, marking a completed evening. Everyone was shaking by the end. We brought all the instruments, and a broken apart drum set that was split between everyone. Notably, house on fire also layed down extra percussion.

Setting us up for our set, the kittenz performed, and after a few songs switched to grandma. Some of the most incredible music, the energy was wonderful and their sporadic beats were unique and perfectly dissonant. Sexy stuff. Bernard performed his evil kinevil set, which was lovely and inspiring. Jumping from the stage never felt so gratifying. Killing pablo were loud and gazey, and they were quite fun. House on fire was incredible and droney. I want to do a split with him.

This previous friday, the 8th, the picked pockets asked me to do a set with them on the roger williams radio station 88.3 FM WQRI, and it was a ton of fun. Drinking wine and making wonderful noisey folk was so much fun. There are downloads available, I'll post that link when I can get it from home. We do an excellent cover of Working Class Hero. There are extra verses so you can make up your own words. I don't think this was a one shot deal, and I hope to play with them again, perhaps even this weekend. The picked pockets can be found at this website. This collective contains Greg Embryo and Steve Iceberg as Monster from the Beijing Opera collective, featuring Monster's ear for melody and Embryo's penchant for delirious ramblings that are more concise than your mom's birthday. Yes.

So, now this brings us to other near future events.

The weak magnets recording is done. It simply needs to be cut up and packaged. You ask, we'll make.

Personally, I am currently recording a split between fuzzy forest and aura aurora featuring wigwasawigamig. This release will be about 50 minutes or so and have to do with some wild ideas. The format will be three seperate records to be played simultaneously (a la Zaireeka), but each record is the individual release by each project (hence a 3-disc folding package or something, hand packaged with lots of great things that you might find endearing). I'll include a cd with the tracks all together in stereo format for your car rides and ipod listens too. It won't be too expensive. It is entitled "we are ok".

you'll know more about it in the future!

Unfortunately, until this recording is set, I don't plan to play live at any point soon, save these random radio happenings or perhaps a No love in a lazer bedroom shindigs at URI, so I'll post that up, but that's it. Next year I shall play some shows, maybe even deviating a bit from providence. I won't be travelling far until early may. I will actually have a release party for the record. Hopefully that will later on this month.

Autumnal Hymns performed in person:
12/11/06 - No Love In a Lazar Bedroom - 7pm URI 193 degrees coffee house.
music, art, weird things, it'll be great. Free. Math the band are going to be there, I have no idea about anyone else. I'm going to try to be there, performing as either fuzzy forest, aura aurora, wigwasawigamig, or all of them (?). We'll see, but show up anyway.
12/26-30thish/06 - we are okay cd release party. This could happen anywhere, but I'll keep you posted. Probably at URI or Roger Williams, everyone can drink fine wine continuously. We can play drunken encores set after set. This will be free, and I'll have the records for sale where ever it ends up going down.
