"So This is Christmas"

Now come on into our family room and have a seat over there on the sofa Chrispctseven.gif (20963 bytes)and I will show and tell you about some of our decorations. This is a view
of our mantle. As you can see, we collect clocks. I have greenery
across the mantle and the round decorations you see in the green-
ery are cross stitch Santas. I am so sentimental! The white
crocheted lace around the mantle was done by my grandmother.
She did lace for all nine grandchildren for Christmas. She died
right before Christmas. This lace was made to go on pillow cases, but I always put it
around the mantle and think of her as I place it there. The two stockings on the left are done in cross stitch and the one on the right is needlepoint and is for our son.
Chrispctfour.gif (26476 bytes)Three of a collection of Christmas plates I have done in cross stitch. The patterns were in "Cross Stitch and Coun
Chrispctfive.gif (26793 bytes)try Crafts Magazine". We place them over the bay window . Here are
the other three. I stopped doing them after these
six. I won first place at the fair with the first
plate."The Nutcracker".

Chrispctsix.gif (15207 bytes) This is an animated Santa in a rocker surrounded by my Christmas dolls from my doll collection. In the bay window is a lighted Santa Village. The lighted ceramic tree is one I did back in the 1960's. There is also a Christmas tree in this room done just with Santas. There are special things always tucked in the tree. One of the children got a small Nativity scene when they were in kindergarten and that is always placed inside the tree and there is an elf we place on a ladder at the tree. He was also a gift to one of the children in kindergarten.

Now come onto the kitchen........................
