Up And Beyond

As I lay myself down at night
I'm wishing, you were here holding me tight
I hear the owls, in the woods so deep
I listen closely, I don't make a peep
All around me, is asleep
Frogs croaking around the pond
I look out my window, Up and beyond
Through the branches on the trees
Wishing you were here with me
Twinkling stars, up high in the sky
Fresh night air, a gentle breeze
Crickets, singing their nightly lullabies
I then notice, the moon rise
Down my cheek, flows a tear
Missing you badly, wanting you near
Holding you in my heart, you're so dear
Your sweet voice, is all I can hear
Loving words spoken, softly in my ear
Each morning as I awake
Your beautiful smile, is all I see
If only you could be here
Imagine how happy, we both would be
