The Blame Game

The below was sent to me by an Internet friend. I do not know the author as this information was not given. However, it clearly depicts one of the major problems we have in this nature - the problem of blaming outside sources rather than accepting responsibility for our own actions.

==================================================

Let's see if I understand the state of personal responsibility in America of the 1990s.

If a woman burns her thighs on the hot coffee she was holding in her lap while driving, she blames the restaurant.

If your teen-age son kills himself, you blame the rock 'n' roll musician he liked.

If you smoke three packs a day for 40 years and die of lung cancer, your family blames the tobacco company.

If your daughter gets pregnant by the football captain you blame the school for poor sex education.

If your neighbor crashes into a tree while driving home drunk, you blame the bartender.

If your cousin gets AIDS because the needle he used to shoot heroin was dirty, you blame the government for not providing clean ones.

If your grandchildren are brats without manners, you blame television. And, if your friend is shot by a deranged madman, you blame the gun manufacturer.

If your kid flunks a class/s, you blame the teachers and/or the school.

If a law is passed that is unconstitutional, you blame the political party you dont belong to.

If an unconstitutional law affects you adversely, you blame the government.

If your child begins to use drugs, you blame the people selling the drug.

If your child uses bad language, you blame TV, movies, other kids, and society.

If you have an accident, you blame the car manufacturer or the other guy or the road or the time of day.

God bless America, land of the free, home of the blame.

==================================================

There you have it in a nutshell. Until the American people learn to accept responsibility for their own actions, including inactivity in the case of correcting the wrongs, we are lost to the will of tyrants who know people are basically lazy, afraid, or just don't have the will to get involved and would rather just blame others or depend on others to do what they should be helping to do.
