A Georgian House Date: 1926 Location: Bradfield St George, Nr. Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk In October 1926 Miss Ruth Wynne and fourteen-year-old Miss Allington walked from Rougham to look at the church in the nearby village of Bradfield St George. They walked through a farm yard and as they approached the road they could see on the other side an old brick wall surrounding a Georgian-style house with large trees in its garden. In letter dated 11 March 1934 Miss Wynne described the house as having a stucco front and Georgian-style windows. Some four months after the October 1926 walk both Miss Wynne and Miss Allington revisited the site but found neither the wall nor the house; they tried to find to locate it several times and never succeeded. In correspondence in February 1937 Miss Allington was unable to remember any details of the house, which seems therefore not to have impressed itself on her memory as strongly as on Miss Wynne’s. The house has not been located; even in 1963 Tony Cornell of the society of Psychical Research was in the area looking for the house reported by the two women.
