| Is Proud to Announce Several NEW Additions to our Workshop Offerings: |
| Beginning the Journey has acquired additional training curriculums from the Southern Poverty Law Center. As we continue to expand our program offerings, we want to work with your school, place of employment, church, or civic group to arrange workshops that will best meet the needs of your employees, students, or members. All presentations include public speaking, interactive group discussion and exercises, as well as the viewing of a diversity/tolerance themed film. If any of the following material interests you, do not hesitate to contact us. "Starting Small": Educating our Children about Diversity This training is designed to be used as a starting point for educators of the early grades. The film, "Starting Small", is designed for in-service programs, and a 250-page text, designed for self-reflection or group discussion, profile exemplary pre-K through 3rd grade classrooms in which peace, equity, and justice are guiding themes. Starting Small is the perfect interactive program that will begin dialogue among your early childhood workers that explores the issues of diversity and tolerance. "Starting Small" is an appropriate workshop for preschool and early grade educators and early childhood workers. "America's Civil Rights Movement": This material tells the story of the struggle to end official apartheid in the U.S. Participants will view the Academy Award-winning film "A Time For Justice." The America's Civil Rights Movement presentation is most effective in a history or social studies format in a middle or high school setting.
