Background - Pondstock is a anual music fest put on every year in Peru, NY, at Twin Ponds Camp Ground. There is only one Pond there, but after a night of fun at Pondstock, you will atleast see two. People come from all over the state and some from other states like near by Vermont to see the local talents play. Pondstock started out humbly 6 years ago with only a few bands. My Mom was at the first Pondstock. She said it was not much. It has grown and this year was a two day event with around 20 bands. Pondstock may as well be called "Drugstock". They don't search you at the gate. For around $25 you get two days of camping and music. Getting drugs is easy, and the venders with food are reasonably priced unlike another Stock I can think of. Pondstock has a great atmospher, music, camping and drugs.

I heard of Pondstock through word of mouth at another anual music fest,
Springfest. At first it did not sound like something I would want to go to, but the possabilty of drugs and to see the new Hazin' Jane singer changed my mind. I tryed to talk my friend Brendan into going, and when I finnaly did, his dad would not let him go (because there would be drugs). My parents when on a camping trip of their own that weekend so I biked to the show. On the way, I fell and broke my collar bone. I kept going on to the show. I got to the show at about 1 pm (I think). It was the second day of the show (I skiped the first day to save money ). The day was hot as hell and their was not a whole lot to do. the music sucked for the most part. I really did not pay atention to which bands played when I was their. I do remember that it was mostly Hippie music (the 60's are fucking dead already) and one band did a sad version of "Comfortably Numb" By pink Floyed. The band butchered the song but it was not as bad as the band that killed "FreeBird" at Springfest. I spent most of the day tring to stay out of the sun. At one point I did score some weed, and a litlle of the old Captain Morgan. It was a pretty long day The show ran overtime and the second to last band "Jim" took the stage around midnight. All Jim's songs were about beer, (what class). They were ok, if if you are a hippie or beer drinking, gun shooting redneck. finnaly, at around 1:45 am they got their beer junky asses off the stage and Hazin Jane was up. They sound cheacked and took the stage at around 2 am. Hazin' Jane played for like 2 hours then I fell Asleep by someones camp fire.. Pondstock over all was good, they did have a little trouble tring to get the fireworks to work durring Hazin Jane's set though. It was worth going to over all.
