I began breeding Labrador Retrievers in 1994 with one objective in mind, to produce the finest quality pups available anywhere.

I spare no effort or expense to guarantee that superior quality pups result from each breeding that I do, this involves diligent study and careful selection to decide on stud dogs that are a good match for each particular female. Factors such as proximity and cost of the stud fee are never a factor, I have air freighted my dogs as far away  as Regina Saskatchewan and Florida to be bred. Over the years I have worked closely with my veterinarian to develop a comprehensive and extensive health plan tailored exclusively to my breeding program.   

With the exception of "Annie," my original chocolate female, all of the breeding stock are a product of my own breeding program. I have been with them since birth and interact with each of my dogs on a daily basis. I am  familiar with each of their unique traits, through and through. Matings are planned years in advance and prospective studs are constantly being evaluated and reassessed.  The two traits that I appraise In deciding which studs to think about  using are 1.temperament and 2.overall performance in the field, if a dog is not first rate in both of these qualities I will not consider breeding to him. There are hundreds of potential studs that possess both excellent temperament and performance, personal knowledge of each of their strong and week points and my own dogs characteristics allows  me to select the best match for each female. 

I have hunted upland game and waterfowl most of my life and have recently had my dogs trained for AKC Field Trial competition. I do not train my own dogs, they are started by me then sent out to a number of different trainers before being finished at the world famous Gonia's McKenna Kennel in McKenna, WA.
