First of all , I firmly believe that 95 % of the students have enough abilities to pass High School Math courses.

Students fail in high school because of the lack of prerequisite knowledge and help.

For some of the students 1 hour per week is enough to close the gaps in knowledge and get easily 65-75 % even though they failed Math before.

If you come to my classes I will test your knowledge and tell you how many classes you need in order to pass or improve. Moreover, after a few classes I can tell you what term mark you will get if you keep working hard.

As a Mathematician I know that the key role of success in Math plays a deep understanding of the logical structure of the math course. I learned this idea from my wonderful teacher. And his teaching method brought excellent results not only in Math, but also in further professions of all his students.

I always work on developing the understanding of the course, and not memorizing the rules and repeating the steps. Memorizing without understanding does not work in High School because all the problems are different and require different approach.

In Math it is essential to develop logical, analytical thinking, especially for kids whose majors will be in computer science, engineering or finances. I always encourage my students to think for themselves.

I teach how to apply concepts and ideas to a problem.

Students who need help in Math usually have gaps from previous years, and first of all bridging the gaps of knowledge is very important in creating a stable base for further progress, because in Math everything links to each other.

During my lessons I am not only helping with current assignments but also striving to eliminate the deficiency of my student's knowledge. Usually for this purpose I give additional homework - a couple of exercises to consolidate what a student have learned during the lesson.

I HAVE ADDITIONAL MATERIALS ON EVERY TOPIC WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS OF DIFFICULTIES.

Also, there is another group of students who have strong and comprehensive knowledge but still have problems in Math because of their lack of confidence or difficulties in creative applying knowledge to the current problem. For these students, I always try to encourage them to think for themselves by giving as small hint as possible and offering different Math problems .

I am running these Math classes because I ENJOY helping people and seeing their happy faces when they get 80-90 % in school.

I like to see that a student who thought initially that Math is hard and he/ she can not overcome it suddenly realizes that he/she can pass and , moreover, get 80-90 %. It gives the hope that they can choose any profession and attend any University or College.

In addition I can say that my friendly and easygoing nature creates a light atmosphere during the lessons, which makes it easy for students to overcome their difficulties.
