Bred by Sabtah Stud in Queensland, his sire is 1992 Australian Champion Stallion Imperial Madaar (imp USA) and his dam is the lovely Asfour (imp) daughter Simeon Sadira.
Acquired by Hartz in 2002, Shimmy has only been in the showring a handful of times and was never unplaced. His last outing was the 2003 Victorian Classic where he won his class.
Due to a recurrent tendon sheath infection Shimmy will no longer be at public stud.
