Dave Fitton was raised on the Louis Gill and Sons Cattle Ranch located in the rolling oak studded hills at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California.  Horses have always been a part of  Dave's life. On the ranch Dave was very
blessed to have been mentored by some excellent
horsemen. The ranch Farrier, Bob Noble, began teaching
him the importance of proper hoof care and natural hoof
balance when he was only ten years old.
Dave's favorite horse Booger Red that led him on his
barefoot odyssey. At the age of eighteen Red was
diagnosed with navicular syndrome.  He had been well
cared for his entire life with traditional regular shoeing.
Three Farriers and two Veterinarians later Dave began
searching the Internet for answers. He was determined to
allow his horse to heal not just manage his pain.
Dave had the great fortune to attend two workshops with Martha Olivio and James Welz both of whom had just returned from Germany after completing their studies with Dr. Hiltrud Strasser.
A little over a year later Dave too was certified by Dr. Hiltrud Strasser after completing a year long technical and practical international course. Dave has continued to network and study with Martha Olivo and is a certified Hoof Groom Mentor. Dave recently had the wonderful opportunity to study with Pete Ramey and Dr. Robert Bowker.
What was just a few years ago considered off-beat and grasping at straws when trying to heal a lame horse is now becoming mainstream as more Veterinarians, Farriers, horse owners and performance trainers educate themselves.
Dave has a very large barefoot clientele in northern and central Calif. as well as an equine lameness and rehabilitation facility for horses located in Strathmore CA.
Mr. Fitton resides with his wife Cheri in Strathmore, Ca.  (559) 359-7239

**Depending on the state in which one practices, the Practice Act within that State will dictate the parameters in which a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) and other paraprofessionals are allowed to treat animals. Dr. Hartwig, DC, CVCP, is quite clear and in fact adamant that Doctors of Chiropractic and all other paraprofessionals work through Veterinarian affiliates.
