Biography

From Canada to Columbia to Copenhagen the sounds of Katherine Fitch's harp gently resonate. Beginning at the age of 13

as one of only a handful of harpists in New Brunswick, Canada, Katherine has taken her passion as far as the sea is wide.

After competing in Debut Atlantic's 2000 competition and winning both the NB Arts Board and Von Kuster Music Scholarships,

Katherine began studies in harp performance at the University of Western Ontario. During her time in London, ON she

performed with the International Symphony Orchestra, The Amabile Singers, as well as every large and many small ensembles

at the University. After graduating with honours from UWO she studie with Judy Loman at the Royal Conservatoary of Music

in Toronto. While in Toronto she performed with the Brantford Symphony, Orchestra London Canada, Wilfred Laurier Opera

and multiple chamber groups. Most notable of these collaborations was the
Jackson Fitch Flute and Harp Duo with whom she

made her first TV appearance, and "Stringsongs" a three harp and cello quartet who presented a concert for the Tonronto Harp

Society. 2008 saw Katherine aboard Celebrity Cruises'
Constellation performing harp while touring the Caribbean, United

Kingdom and Balitc. Look for her in the Mediterranean on the
Azamara Quest in 2009.
