The Barn
Harper Valley Farm features 7 12' x 12' matted stalls in the main
barn. Stalls are cleaned everymorning and water tanks are scrubbed
often. Each stall is also equiped with a heat lamp for those cold
winter nights. The barn has a stereo so you
can listen to your favorite music in the aisle and the arena. We
try to keep the barn as clean as possible for the boarders and guests.
Behind the arena we have 12' x 14' stall which works as our foaling
stall and an extra stall.
The Feed
We feed beet pulp, sterling pellets, wet cob, alfalfa, and a little extra
grass hay to horses that need a little more. In the winter molasses
and rice bran are added to the beet pulp for added warmth. Horses are
fed 1 flake alfalfa in the a.m., 1 flake alfalfa in the afternoon,
and grain and a flake at night.
The Arena
The covered arena is perfect for those rainy days or dark evenings. It's
completely covered and has lights for dark days. In
the spring and summer time our top turnout can be used as a riding
area.
The Turnouts
All horses are turned out everyday on 3 acres rain or shine. We have
6 separate paddocks so your horse can be turned out with multiple horses
or by itself. There are also shelters in most paddocks so your horse
can get out of the weather.
The Trails
Harper Valley Farm is within riding distance of the Fort Lewis Reservation
where you can enjoy miles and miles of trails. We are also within riding
distance of Horseland Farms, Brookwood Equestrian Center, the Woodbrook
Hunt Club, and Bridlewood Farms if you are interested in taking jumping
or dressage lessons or riding the hunt.
