1. Ignorance among people about-how unknowingly they are exploiting, polluting and wasting water

2. Lack of moral responsibility towards society and environment as a whole.

3. Due to lack of basic infrastructure facility like proper networking of fresh water, drainage system, sewer system and treatment plant, etc. people are forced to loot water and dump it as per their convenience.

4. In city development plan, ‘water’ has not been given value. Surveys regarding the levels of city, its drains, rivers, nalas and other water bodies, are old.

5. 90% houses of the city are pucca. Their rainwater goes to city drains.

6. All the city waste is being dumped into the kali nadi and into the underground aquifers through direct bores making under ground water polluted.     

7. At the time of heavy rainfall end point of the main city drain where it meets to Kalinadi is closed. This results to street flooding.
