Recently I have taken to studying the Kabalah and the Golden Dawn techniques of Ceremonial Magick.  I am aware that most occult practices and beliefs are complete crap, but so are religious beliefs and practices.  Supposedly, freud was at least familiar with the Kabalah, and he based many of his theories on its precepts.  This may be completely contrary to my belief that there is no power higher than man, but I honestly feel good when practicing some of the rituals.  Intellectually, I know that there is no YHVH, no heavenly power that can help me change my life, but for the moment, when in the throes of religious ecstasy, I feel it.  The first time I practiced the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram was amazing.  I had full body chills and actually felt like I was at the crux of the universe.  I understand that it's useless for me to urge any of you to even consider trying this, especially since I don't even believe that I'm doing it, but I'm gonna say it anyway.  Practice a ritual and offend the society that spurns us.  Profane the Holy Name of God until your tongue bleeds and feel better about yourself for it.  This evangelic tirade is ended.

Chapter 69 of Crowley's Book of Lies (Liber CCCXXXIII) tells us:
"This is the Holy Hexagram.
Plunge from the height, O God, and interlock with Man!
Plunge from the height, O Man, and interlock with Beast!
The Red Triangle is the desceding tongue of grade;
The Blue Triangle is the asceding tongue of prayer.
This Interchange, the Double Gift of Tongues, the
Word of Double Power-ABRAHADABRA!-is
the sign of the GREAT WORK, for the GREAT
WORK is accomplished in Silence.  And behold is
not that Word equal to Cheth, that is Cancer,
whose Sigil is
This Work also eats up itself, accomplishes its own
end, nourishes the worker, leaves no seed, is
perfect in itself.
Little Children, love one another!"

A New Feature to be spread about the site.
This is it, folks.  The page that got me interested.  I have finally found it again.  I had just gotten online at home and was wanting to read some on the biblical Nephilim (I knew that they were somehow connected with magic) and found this page.  I started reading.  This is where I first encountered reference to Theurgy, Solomon's occult legends, the orders of angels, and much other trivia.  It was my first encounter with Hebrew, and the etymologies that are so much fun to me now.  These were the ones who set my foot down the Dark Road.  We always have fond memories of our first time...

I would like to warn anyone interested in invocation.  Invocation has the potential to be very dangerous to your psyche and can threaten the fabric of your everyday life.  Even if you are skeptical, invocation can alter your basic psychological structure so that thought patterns that are abnormal to you are introduced into your psyche.  For example, I once invoked the godform Dionysus in order to introduce risk-taking into my lifestyle.  I wanted an element of his madness to infuse me so that I could take chances and hopefully better myself.  I spent about a month craving wine and doing things that I wouldn't normally do.  Had I been 21 at the time I probably would've started drinking heavily.  It would've been bad.  It also catapulted me into the next stage of "getting over it," and promoted lots of hedonism.  At least, it's my good excuse.  Just beware when dealing with conjurations and godforms, whether you believe them to be universal archetypes or actual spirits and entities.
