My name is Dawn Marie Shrubb and I am 51 years old. I have been married for 35 years to Tom Shrubb of Kane . We have three children, Michele and her husband Bob, living in Florida, Michael and his wife Jenni living here in Kane, and Jeffrey, an active member of the Kane Volunteer Fire Dept (also living here in Kane). We also have one grandson Michael Thomas Shrubb of Kane, a student at Chestnut Elementary School. We are the owners of two lhasa apso dogs and here is where my interest in caring and grooming of dogs had its beginnings.
I have always had a love for animals and my Father, Donald, was responsible for that. As he raised hunting dogs of all kinds all his life. We also raised chickens, pigs, and had goats and ponies as children. This truly was an endearing experience that I shared with my Dad, who passed away in 1985. My Mother is Anna Kribbs who passed away in June of 2000, who truly passed on her love of people and her wonderful caring a sharing attitude to all her 4 children.
? After owning two dogs of my own and becoming interested in the grooming aspect of pet care I decided, with the support of my husband and family to take a class in Pet Grooming and open my own Shop in my home.
? This has been an ongoing learning experience for me and one I have truly enjoyed.
? I have received my training in the care and grooming of animals from Barb Ruhlman, owner of Indian Ridge Kennels in Youngsville, Pa. She is a Master Groomer and a Breeder of German Shepard Dogs. She has shown German Shepard Dogs and has bred champions of the breed. She does Obedience training and Search and Rescue Skills training, and Search and Rescue work herself. She is an excellent animal behaviorist. She also had had the opportunity to train dogs for Police K-9 work. I truly benefited from the training that I received there. I will continue training under her as long as I can for any future reference. I also received training from Vi Snyder, a graduate of the Florida Dog Grooming School and groomer and kennel manager of Indian Ridge Kennels.I am also interested in the art of pet massage and am furthering my training to include that in my pet care business. I will keep my clients informed as to my progress in this area." |
