CRUSADE 2

The second crusade was in a richer area, closer to where we were staying. The number of people was a lot less, between 200- 600 each night, growing each night. We seen about 200 Hindus come to know Jesus over the 4 nights. (And maybe even a cow or 2! Cows just roam freely in the streets, and we had a cow come and settle right next to the stage. We also seen a healing. In a dog! It was the end of the night, we were just standing around talking and this dog comes running past with one leg up, Dale yells outs be loosed! and the dog stops, puts his leg down and then runs off again!.. we dont know if it was a real healing, but it kept us amused for the next week! Hehe)
As the orphanage was very close to where we had this crusade, most of the kids were either bused in or trucked in! And afterwards we would mingle with them. They just loved that, they would say, come Aunty. They loved to touch your skin, tell you that you have a beautiful smile. And on the last night we wore our Indian clothes and they absolutely loved this!! Said we all looked great!

VILLAGE AREA
After our second crusade, we headed into the remote hill area, and spent
2 days there, visiting very small tribes and bringing the gospel to them.
We stayed with a pastor and his family, in a very basic church building,
You could count the possessions they owned on one hand, which was
very sad. But they live that way for God!!

This was a very remote area, lots of jungles and many animals.. and
dangerous ones. Just 10 days before we arrived there, a man was killed
by an elephant!

We were to hold 2 night meetings while there, but because of the lack of
power up there and the generator did not work, it was only 1 night.
During the days we went and visited and told them about the night
meeting, and then on the night, we shared with them and then had dinner
with them. This was the last part of our trip, after this we headed to
Ooty Hill, where we did some great shopping, visited a tea plantation,
seen how tea is picked and then made into tea to drink, which was a great
experience!

OTHER MEETINGS
Over the 12 days that we were there, we held 29 meetings. We all shared and testified many times!!
We attended an opening for a medical shop, a house dedication
(which started at 6am!!!.. and included breakfast, which
was very difficult to stomach!)

Some of us (not me, as I was sick), went to a secret
womens meeting, where women that are saved go, but
their husbands that are Hindus dont know they are saved,
they still have to where their dot on their head, other wise,
they will get beat and abused, which is really sad. We here
in western places, are blessed to be able to preach the
gospel as freely as we do!

We attended a mid week english speaking cell group, which was awesome!! Was good to be able to sing and share the gospel in english and have them understand.

A week after the 1st crusade, we went back to the village and held a meeting on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It was to be held in a cinema, where those that were saved during the crusade could come back, learn about the Holy Spirit and its gifts and then be prayed for. But it was moved to a church, and not as many people came. But it was an awesome meeting. There were about 70 there, Dale preached on the Holy Spirit, and then we went into some praise and worship and people just started to speak in tongues, it was truly amazing. It was some what hard to be caught in the atmosphere when I had not seen anything like it before, but it was till awesome!!! Really blessed me!

THE FOOD
Ahhh the food! I will firstly say, I dont wanna have curry for
months!! They eat curry for breakfast, lunch and dinner! We were
very blessed though, to be able to stay in the hotel, as they had
some english food, which was really nice!! There were many
different types of breads, rice dishes, curries, all served either
on a metal plate or on a huge green leaf.

We drank a lot of water and it had to be bottled water, drink the
water there would of made us very sick. We meet an American
missionary, who has been there for 6 yrs and he still doesnt drink
the water.

One of the meals that we will all remember I think was at a families
home that we visited, she has a sister in Sydney, and just wanted
to meet us, so we went there one night after a crusade. Now the
main meal was very nice! It wasnt to spicy, but the dessert just
killed it. We were handed this small bowls, with 2 round balls in
them. They were white, looked like eyes balls, they were made of rice, but they tasted like styrophome cups and were in a very very sweet liquid!!! It took us ages to eat them!!
We all enjoyed the opportunity to eat pizza in Chenni just before we headed back home!!
