The (Non) Environmental Seminar

I once attended an environmental seminar,

In some place way from my house, which was very far

I cursed and cursed the organizer

For not being my vehicle’s fuel financer

So much petrol was consumed

And on the wastage I fumed.

At last I reached the institution

Braving the noise and air pollution

I reached there only to find

That there was no Fevicol to bind

The banner depicting a tree

And a real one was not to be found, you see!!

Then the guests came piling in

And created a huge din

And I amazed at the irony of all

That these were the same people who preached for the noise pollution graph to fall.

Somehow I managed to ignore the noise,

And with a calm, serene face I had to poiuse,

But lo! When I entered the hall,

My heart did stall

For smoke was up in the air

For a non-smoker’s lung, this was not fair.

Boldly to the midst I walked,

Only to be further shocked

Standing at the pulpit was a great demon

And was standing unquailed despite the targeted lemons.

He roared in a thunderous voice,

“You humans have no choice,

I am the demon of pollution,

You policies are ineffective of environment protection

Because it’s too late

And my spread has become great

But if you be sincere and work hard

You can tame me and pollution you can discard.

Use less plastics

And watch the population statistics

Don’t let the ozone deplete

And disarmament project you complete

Have proper, healthy, environment friendly industries

Or you will have to face further pollution intricacies.

Be as biological as possible

Since nothing is impossible

Don’t create a deafening din

Don’t resort to means which are considered sin.

And take to my advice,

Because its very nice

And conserve a future for your kids

And don’t sell nature on human bids,

….. And don’t sell nature on human bids. “
