Life Passing By
![]()
Raindrops pattering over your bald head, you glare at a sultry sky,
No raincoat or umbrella. Curses, recriminations, resignation... sigh!!
You hail for the taxi across the road,
It haughtily ignores you, continuing to drag its own dignified load
You are late again, impatiently tapping your foot,
You wait for the elevator, it zips past you,
You plod up the tiresome staircase,
How much further? When do you hit base?
The day begins, you drag yourself into it,
You find your desk and in the chair you sit,
You yawn out your tiredness, the boss watches you,
The day will be tough, like a nightmare pursuing you.
The drudgery of work, protesting muscles and brain,
Deaf and blind to your own unhappiness, your ignored soul slain,
The day ends, where is the relief? No grateful sigh?
Just another day.... you watched as life passed you by.....
