Passing Fancies

Across the party, I looked at him and thought "How Gorgeous!"

Alas! But I knew not him nor he me, how tortuous!

I wormed my way into an introduction and decided that I was in love

But my resolution lasted till he was pushed aside with a shove

For that blue eyed guy in my neighbourhood I saw the next morning

And decided that this time it's really true love, and I was still learning….

And then my brother brought his best friend home

Looking at him I though "He's my soul mate or I'll live alone!"

Obediently to my instructions, I fell in love with him

Till I went to school the next day and saw Tim

Tim, the brilliant scholar, would be the best one to fall in love with

And with this profound insight, for him my flame of love again lit

Oh! But that evening my poor emotions could be moved no more

With me falling in and out of love instantly, they were quite sore

Was I flirt, a nut or an emotional fool, none understood what was wrong and why

You see, I was just so much in love with the idea of falling in love that I'd grab almost any guy

As you know bad old habits die not at all

… hey, wait! I see the right one at last, oh! so handsome and tall…..
